Lloyd is long-time board member on the Lynbrook Chamber of Commerce, and is very active in the local community. He a veteran writer, technologist, environmentalist and musician. In 1995, he founded Chrein, a digital agency, and he sold the agency in 2022. Lloyd was previously a reporter and editor for The Wall Street Journal, Newsday and Money Magazine. He was part of the team that launched Money Online, winning one of the first awards for excellence in online journalism, and he taught writing for the web at the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism.
Lloyd also consults, writes and edits for Earth Hero, a global organization that provides tools and ideas to empower all who want to reduce emissions, improve lives, and care for our shared planet. He is a lead guitarist in three rock and blues bands, performing in venues throughout the New York metropolitan area, and he is an avid organic gardener (tomatoes a specialty).
