What's Happening in the Chamber

Dear Members,

I am so proud to serve as your president. My first year was quite productive as well as a lot of fun. We are now up to 133 members (from 77), our software is up to date and we have created many exciting events you can find on our constantly improving website, to help put our businesses clearly out in front of our residents.  We've got a fresh new logo, new board members and are building a great relationship with the Mayor, the Trustees and Village Hall.

"Experience Lynbrook" will be held May 4 at the Lynbrook Library.  Don't miss the opportunity to showcase your business in our second annual business expo.  There will be food, music and great people to make this event the place to tell the community about what you do and how well you do it.  There will be 36 tables available, so reserve yours now so you don't get left out.  If you aren't showcasing your business, please volunteer to help out. We can use your help and it's a great place to network with other businesses.  Last year's event was very well-attended and we anticipate an even better turnout this year.

In April, we are launching our first annual "Window Makeover" contest.  Cash prizes will be awarded and we hope to get the whole village involved in voting.  It's a great chance to take a fresh look at your windows and make sure they are representing your business in the best way possible. We're looking for sponsors to help with the cash prizes and you'll be able to register online for that, as well as to enter your window.

Please take advantage of our many breakfast and lunch events that will provide you with information to help you in your business.  Also volunteer to help with events.  After Experience Lynbrook, and the Window Makeover, we are coming up on the Car Show and Prom Night, so we need lots of help.  We're also planning a Craft Show on July 14. Volunteering is a great way to network and become a part of something bigger!

And by the way ... If Andrea Baum calls you and asks if she can take a picture of your business, say yes!  You'll be on the homepage of our website and it's absolutely free!

Pick up your "Lynbrook Means Business" car magnet at F&L Deli to help us spread the word!

All the best to you,

Polly Talbott
